Yet global supply is dominated by China, which controls roughly 80–85% of production and continues to restrict exports—tightening an already fragile supply chain. Outside of China, production is limited, reserves are declining, and few new projects are coming online.

At the same time, demand for tungsten is rising sharply as nations modernize energy infrastructure, expand advanced manufacturing, and secure materials critical for national security. This widening supply-demand gap has put renewed focus on domestic tungsten sources in North America, especially past-producing districts in Nevada, where historical grades and existing infrastructure offer a unique opportunity to rebuild a reliable, homegrown supply.
